Every day, thousands of tonnes of healthcare waste is generated across Australia and New Zealand. From manufacturing to supply chains, Healthcare is responsible for 7% of global emissions.

Medsalv is helping the healthcare industry break its commitment to the linear economy and switch to a more sustainable, circular model.

From single-use to sustainable

Medsalv has developed safe and effective remanufacturing processes for more than 50 devices - this means instead of using a device once and sending it to landfill, your hospital could get up to 14 additional uses.

I want to be sustainable

1. Hospital Use

Remanufactured or New devices are used clinically in your hospital.
Remanufactured devices are used in exactly the same way as New devices and are clearly marked to help maximise cost & waste savings, and so you know you're making a positive impact.

2. Collections

After being used, devices are collected in Medsalv collection bags. Hospital staff use our simple online form to notify us when their collection bags are full. The devices are delivered to our local facility for remanufacturing.

3. Remanufacturing

Devices go through our digitally monitored cleaning, retesting, labelling and packaging process. Each device goes through a total of 9 inspections and we guarantee a patient experience that matches that of a new device.

4. Returning

The journey comes full circle with devices returned to the hospital at up to 60% less than the original device price. Devices are then used and collected for remanufacturing, again.

We believe sustainability means more than planting a few trees.

In 2023, we started working with hospitals across Australia too.

We have two remanufacturing facilities, one in Christchurch (New Zealand), and the other in Geelong, Victoria (Australia).
